Reasons to Splurge a Little When it Comes to Footwear
When it comes to style, most of us like to go with what feels the most comfortable. That is usually the best way to go, however, if you always go for the same looking outfits or are always dressed too casually in every situation, then you will likely get an earful from your parents or your partner. And believe me I can personally relate. I do dress like a professional that knows what he’s doing while at work (at least I seam that way), but I hate having to force myself into restrictive clothing when I’m supposed to be enjoying myself when going out, just so I don’t “stand out for all the wrong reasons”. But, while this compromise is inevitable with most articles of clothing, if you get yourself some quality footwear, you won’t have to think twice about whether or not you should wear them.
A good pair of urban shoes can be worn for virtually any occasion and to almost any type of event, and can clear out your closet by getting rid of the dozen other pairs that you never wear for one reason or another. Instead of getting a lot of different footwear and just wasting your money since you don’t like, but rather only tolerate them, invest that same money into only a few pairs of reliable urban shoes that you can take anywhere, and will actually feel comfortable to wear.
Another thing to consider is their durability. Without a doubt, these are the part of your attire that is tested the most and gets put through its paces on a daily basis, so that means that it has to be able to take quite a bit of wear and tear. The problem is that a lot of the time you really can’t tell how reliable they will turn out to be, or how much they can actually take before giving out. Sometimes however, you can even tell by the sight and feel of the material that though it may be cheap, it’s also so flimsy that it will dissolve if you even step into a shallow puddle.
In the end, there always needs to be a balance between price and quality. If you think that it doesn’t matter if they don’t even last two weeks since you got them so cheap, then that is your prerogative. However for my money, it’s a much better idea to spend a bit more if I’m sure that I’ll get more use and better materials for my money.
